What we do for operators
Ohalik Travel works as a local destination management company for international tour operators. We design and run ground operations across Uzbekistan, with regional expertise across five Central Asian countries and into Saudi Arabia. We have been doing this work for thirteen years, from our base in Samarkand.
Our work has served clients from MIR Corporation, Smithsonian Journeys, Road Scholar, Leatherback Travel, Kalpak Travel, and Reisen Mit Sinnen, alongside partner agencies across the region. They do not hand their guests and their ground operations to companies they have not vetted.
Where we operate
Uzbekistan in depth: Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva, the Fergana Valley, Karakalpakstan and the Aral, Nurata and the Kyzylkum. Cross-border programmes into Tajikistan (the Fann Mountains, Panjakent, the Pamir Highway), Kyrgyzstan (Song-Köl, Karakol, the jailoo), Kazakhstan, and Turkmenistan. Bespoke programmes into Saudi Arabia on request.
Group profiles we handle
Single FIT travellers, small special-interest parties, photography and crafts groups with named leaders, academic and expedition-style series, and family or multi-generation private programmes. Tell us your typical group profile and season, and we will tell you honestly what we run well and what we would refer elsewhere.
Our standards
Vehicles we inspect ourselves, with drivers we name in the trip documents. Licensed guides vetted for language and subject depth — several are literature graduates or former museum curators. Accommodation from boutique and family-run houses, including our own Amira Boutique Hotel in Samarkand, up to the tier your programme requires. Meal arrangements briefed host by host, with dietary requirements handled in writing. A satellite phone and first-aid kit on every remote departure, and a 24-hour local contact for every group on the ground.
How we work with partners
We quote transparently against your specification, and our quote includes everything we list. We name our guides, drivers, and hosts before your group arrives. We build against your budget without cutting the substance — when something must be trimmed, we tell you what, and why. Documentation in English, with Arabic and Russian available where the programme needs it.

Write to hello@ohalik.com with the subject line "Operator enquiry". Tell us your group profile, your seasons, and the standard your guests expect. We will reply within two working days, and we are glad to run a pilot departure before you commit to a series.
